Making a STAND

My parents-in-law needed a new stand for their garden umbrella. So my husband Craig cut the top and bottom off two empty water bottles and taped them together to make a hole for the pole. He put that into a strong bucket and packed rock salt around it to hold it in place. Then he put some plastic sheeting over the top and filled the bucket up with attractive slate. It made a sturdy, easy-to-use stand that cost next to nothing.
