One of my relatives was diagnosed with vascular dementia. Having something to keep his hands busy helped to reduce his anxiety, so I made him a special sensory pillow. I covered a cushion with a tea towel, then sewed a fabric wallet on to it and tucked family photos into the pockets. I also cut up some old jeans and used the belt loops to add beads and bells. It was easy to make and made a big difference.
