Hayley Merrick

Hayley is the food editor at Bauer Media, and writes and edits for Take a Break, that’s life!, Bella, Closer, Yours and Heat magazines (it’s a big job!).

With more than 24 years’ experience, Hayley’s Job includes editorial research, planning and recipe writing and testing, proofreading and editing. She has the (somewhat enviable) job of keeping up to date with food trends, tasting new products, and reading all of the new cookery books that grace the shelves (she has a background in food styling and photo shoots, so has a very keen eye!)

Hayley’s passion for food started when she began baking with her mum as a toddler, and after choosing to study Home Economics at school, found a passion for all things food, and continued her food studies at Liverpool John Moores University.

When she’s not writing the food pages for readers to enjoy, Hayley is a keen baker, and enjoys running, reading and finding new places to eat and drink in her home town of St Albans.
