Upcycled watering can1 of 6

Tin can only gets BETTER

I found an old metal watering can that looked a bit dull. But I liked the shape, so I decided to give it a lick of paint. I cleaned it then, after applying an undercoat, I gave it two coats of green enamel paint. Finally, I painted on some flowers. Now, it's an attractive and useful addition to my garden.Jennifer McFadden, Bethnal Green, London

Upcycled step ladder2 of 6

Steps to HEAVEN

During a stroll I spotted an old wooden step ladder in a skip, I rescued it for my garden. I took off the stand, leaving just the steps, which I sanded down before painting blue. I leant the steps up against the shed and put some pots of flowers on each of the steps. Finally, I added fairy lights for a bit of glitz!Deana Kenward, Guildford, Surrey

Easy beach coasters to make3 of 6

How can I be SHORE

When I was out on long beach walks, I collected pieces of sea glass to make beach-themed coasters. Back at home, I had some epoxy resin and coaster moulds. I arranged the sea glass inside the moulds along with some sand and shells, to create a seaside scene. Then I poured the resin into the moulds. Once it had dried, I popped my handmade coasters out of the mould and they were ready — so styish!Claire Broom, West Allotment, Tyne & Wear

Homemade ice lolly4 of 6

Mane COURSE

My pony Conker was feeling the heat, so my daughter Georgie and I decided to make him a home-made ice lolly. We chopped up his favourite fruit and veg, put it into an old ice-cream tub with some water, then popped it into the freezer. Once it had frozen solid, we put Conker's fruit-and-veg ice pop into his paddock for a delicious cooling treat in the heat! Karen Hillier, Winterbourne, Glos

Know your TIGHTS

Just as I was about to throw away a pair of ripped tights, my daughter asked if she could use them to make undies for her dolls. She cut the toes off the tights. Then she cut two holes in the left and right corners to create leg holes. Finally, she cut a small strip to make a bra top for one of the dolls too. It's such a clever idea!Chantelle Jeffers, Shrewsbury, Shrops

Rock art to make at home6 of 6

Power to the PEBBLE

During lockdown, I started gathering attractive stones on my daily walks. When I had a few, I decided to turn them into a piece of art. I painted a small white canvas grey then once that had dried, I created a design using the stones and stuck them to the canvas with superglue. Now, my lockdown artwork is hanging in my bathroom and I think it looks fab.Jane Eaglestone, Aveley, Essex
