Last year, singer Brocarde, 40, married a ghost named Edwardo. Sadly, after just five months of marriage, she’s given her spooky spouse the boot…

When Brocarde revisited her wedding venue recently, it wasn’t to renew her wedding vows with her other half, instead it was to have him purged from her life.

Her now ex-husband Edwardo is a ghost – and when he first came into her life two years ago, declaring his love, she was curious as to why he had chosen her.

The pair got married on 31 October 2022 but sought marriage counselling from a medium soon after.
Now sadly, after just five months of marriage, Brocarde has split from her spooky soulmate after discovering he was having an affair with 1950s bombshell, Marilyn Monroe.

Brocarde says, “I gave the marriage my all, but since divorcing Edwardo, I’ve remembered what it’s like to feel free.”

Brocarde has always been interested in the paranormal. She says, “I experienced a few strange encounters, such as seeing shadowy figures out of the corner of my eye. One evening, I was lying in bed and suddenly felt a warm sensation. I went all clammy and the feeling spread through my body, even though the room was icy cold.

“I reached to turn on my bedside lamp, but something grabbed my hand to stop me. Then I heard a voice whisper, ‘I love you’ and felt someone’s breath on my ear – it was terrifying.”

After a number of similar visitations, Brocarde eventually saw the ghostly figure of a Victorian soldier in her room. She says, “I was sent visions and learned his name was Edwardo, and he was a 35-year-old soldier from Victorian times. He’d died by falling down a well. He had shoulder-length hair and was very handsome.”

They began a loving relationship, which Brocarde said was better than any earthly connection she’d had. She says, “I could literally feel his touch all over my body – he gave me incredible orgasms and I didn’t do anything myself to trigger them.”

But Edwardo had an unwelcome, side. She says, “He could be jealous – if I laid out a revealing outfit, he’d rip it or hide it and then vanish for a few days. I wouldn’t put up with that behaviour from a living man, but I put up with it from Edwardo because I was so intrigued why he’d chosen me.”

Edwardo eventually proposed to Brocarde by writing, “Will you marry me?” in the steam on her bathroom mirror and she immediately accepted. They got married on Halloween last year, in an old derelict chapel with a wedding celebrant performing the ceremony.

The guest list was made up of only Edwardo’s friends from beyond the grave. Brocarde recalls, “Marilyn Monroe was there but Edwardo’s mischievous nature sullied our special day when he made a lewd remark about her. It really got under my skin – he should have been focused on me!”

Edwardo’s brazen behaviour continued, resulting in Brocarde seeking help from a medium. She says, “We used a medium instead of a trained counsellor as she could communicate with Edwardo. She said I needed to assert my boundaries and not let Edwardo invade my thoughts whenever he liked.”

However, the marriage was beyond repair. Brocarde says, “Being married to a ghost was so draining. Edwardo was unreliable and couldn’t contribute to finances. Then he started disappearing and when he’d return, I’d get a waft of Chanel No 5 – the perfume Marilyn wore to bed.

Brocarde is happpier now

“I was certain they were having an affair but by that point a part of me felt relieved, as the relationship had become so difficult. I didn’t even confront him. I knew the only way to end the marriage was by having an exorcism, so I headed back to the chapel where we got married and a spiritual healer purged Edwardo out of me.

“It was traumatic – I could feel Edwardo resist from within me, I felt sick and I felt I was being compelled to scream ‘NO!’ I was so worried he’d return that I started sleeping with sage in my knickers as it’s supposed to ward off ghosts but, luckily, I haven’t seen, heard or felt Edwardo since.

“I’m open to meeting someone new – a human this time! But my main focus is my career. I have just released a new song, Just Another Anthem, which is inspired by our divorce. I feel so happy, calm and free since having that dead weight lifted off my shoulders!”
