I wanted to make personalised place names for Christmas lunch. I painted some toilet roll tubes white, then I cut top hat shapes from cardboard, painted them black and stuck them to the top of the tubes. Finally, I gave my snowmen faces and buttons and painted my family’s names on. My festive creations were a real talking point and didn’t cost me a penny.
