Homemade outdoor pet home1 of 6

Fur-ever home

I was worried about the stray cats in my area getting cold in the winter. So I got some empty cardboard boxes from the supermarket, covered them with a waterproof plastic lining. Then I cut holes to create a little entrance and filled the boxes with straw. Now they've got somewhere cosy to sleep.Marie Godlova, Liverpool, Merseyside

Cover story

During lockdown, I kept myself busy planting beans, peas and tomato seeds to share with my neighbours. I needed to keep my plants warm at night and safe from the frost, but I didn't have enough room in my greenhouse. From the garage, my husband found some old cushion covers. They fitted over my pots perfectly. Now, I'll be able to grow even more veg for family and friends. Wendy Gibbon, Kettering, Northants

Reusing old colouring books3 of 6

Thinking in colour

I was about to throw away my children's old magazines and colouring-in books, but then I realised how many unused pages they contained. So I cut them out, then put them into a folder with some crayons to create a brand-new colouring book for my kids.Amy Atkinson, Bolton, Gtr Manchester

Home-made holiday

I couldn't get away to Greece this year, so instead, I turned my back garden into my own little taverna. I used a stencil and some blue paint to add Greek-inspired drawings to one wall, then hung a shower curtain with a Mediterranean scene on it to the other. Shame I didn't quite get the hot weather!Angharad Edwards, Aberystwyth, Ceredigion

Totally Hooked

I'd run out of skirt hangers in my wardrobe. So I got a regular hanger, attached a peg either end and clipped my skirts on to those instead. It worked a treat. Now, I have some extra hangers for skirts and lightweight trousers. Kaye Richards, Worcester

Silver Lining

After I'd recently decorated my bedroom, I wanted to revamp my bedside table. First, I removed the drawers, then I sanded the unit and painted it to match my new colour scheme. Finally, I had leftover wallpaper from my decorating to line the inside back of the unit. I think the result is fantastic! Lynn Kenyon, Warrington, Cheshire
