The vinyl CURTAIN

When I realised how draughty my front door was, I came up with an idea for a draught excluder. I put a curtain rail above my front door and hung an old shower curtain from it. It keeps out the draughts, so my home is warmer and it looks bright and cheery in my hall too — perfect! James Quinn, Westminster, London

Lard TIMES2 of 6

Lard TIMES

My kids and I go on nature walks and activities with other families. One week, we decided to create some homemade birdfeeders using the leftover halves of some oranges I'd squeezed for juice. I used a barbecue skewer to poke holes in the side and threaded wool through to create a hanger. I mixed bird seed with lard and filled the orange half. Then, on our walk, we hung the feeders from trees for the wild birds. Suzanne Simpson, Galashiels, Borders

Are you being SERVED?3 of 6

Are you being SERVED?

My eldest son wanted a private party for his 18th birthday, so I decided to make him a bar. I used table legs to form a serving hatch. Then I screwed the legs on to the tabletop and screwed this on to a TV unit. Finally, I painted the unit and added some fairy lights and mixers. Kerry Bayley, Dawley, Shrops

Wheel POWER

I struggled to move large, heavy objects around my garden. So when my shopping trolley was on its last legs I had an idea. I removed the tattered fabric from it but kept the frame itself. It's perfect for moving heavy bags of compost around the garden. Lyndie Whittard, Gloucester

Pot LUCK5 of 6

Pot LUCK

I happened to have some old cutlery and a brass teapot that I no longer used, so I decided to turn them into a windchime. I drilled small holes into the end of the cutlery and the base of the teapot. Then I used fishing line to attach the cutlery to the teapot. Finally, I hung my windchime in the garden. Now, I enjoy hearing soothing sounds while I potter about. Stacey Chambers, Leicester

You need HANDS

After I gave birth to my daughter Miya-Rose, I wanted to create a personal keepsake for our family. I bought a white canvas and some colourful paints. Then I sketched a unique design on to the canvas using a pencil and taped on the word 'family'. We all added our hand prints to the canvas and when the paint was dry I peeled off the tape and hung it on the wall — I love it! Chloe Gibbs, Herne Bay, Kent
