EGGSHELL-ent!
Whenever I was boiling eggs, I’d always end up with one or two that cracked a bit in the water. Then I had a great idea — I popped my vegetable steamer basket into the pan and put the eggs in there. It stops them rolling around and bashing against each other, and I can lift them all out in one go. Cracking!

GROW for it!
I had a child’s sandpit that was no longer being used in the garden. Instead of throwing it away, I decided to find a new use for it. With a little bit of help, I moved the sandpit to my allotment. Then I painted it green and filled it with topsoil to turn the container into a very handy raised bed for growing vegetables.

The joy of SOX
My pooch Sox has a short body but is quite stout, which made it difficult to find a coat that fitted her but didn’t cost a fortune. It didn’t help that Sox wasn’t particularly keen on clothes! Then I discovered the perfect solution. I wrapped a fluffy snood I had around her body in a figure of eight, and tucked the leftover bit through the handle of her harness. She wore it for all of her walks and didn’t complain once! I hope this idea helps other four-legged fusspots.

Less MESS
I have a toddler, and I’m always trying to find new ways to let them be creative and not have too much mess to clean up afterwards. So when we got all of the painting equipment out, I decided to put some clingfilm on a plate and squeeze the paint on to the plastic. I also put a bin bag over the table so that when we were finished, all I had to do was remove the clingfilm and the bin bag and pop them in the bin.

Get a GRIP
We were always losing my daughter Skye’s hair clips — somehow they’d get scattered everywhere! Then I had an idea about how to solve the problem. I added a magnetic strip to the bathroom mirror. Now, we can keep them all in one place and she can easily choose which ones she’d like to wear in her hair.
