Over the coronavirus lockdown, my hubby and I threw ourselves into
our garden. We cleaned up two old pallets and cut them in half. Then we attached them at their ends to form a raised flower bed. We gave them a lick of paint and filled the beds with compost and added some plants. Now we want to make one for our veg too!

Our tortoise Shelly needed a new home, so my husband Vic decided to make her one. He had an old pallet in the shed, which he took apart. Then he used the wood to make a little house. He covered this with some scraps of roofing felt, to protect it from the rain, and then we moved Shelly into her new gaff. She loves it! Linda Butterfield, Hartlepool, Co Durham

As I no longer used my wooden planter,I decided to turn it into a dog bar for my pug Ronnie. I dismantled it and cut all
the wood to size. I screwed the base together and attached the back. Then I coated the bar with fence paint and added a vinyl sign. Finally, I sealed the paint with varnish and popped Ronnie's bowl on it. Leanne Garbutt, Framwellgate Moor, Co Durham

I collect brightly coloured vases and needed more space to display them. When my partner Mark and I found an old pine door during a clear-out, I decided to use that. We cut the door into three long pieces and two shorter ones, then screwed them together to form a shelf. Mark rigged up a light behind it, so now I have a trendy light box that sets off my vases beautifully. Sue Taylor, Grays, Essex

We were getting rid of our grandson's old bed frame. But instead of taking it to the tip, my husband Ian decided to use the wood to make a storage unit. First he made the frame, then added shelves. After painting the frame blue, he added a worktop. Now it makes the perfect storage unit for our recycling crates. Julie Storey, Cleethorpes, Lincs
