Top 5 ways to reuse cardboard tubes
Roll with it
When my sister's birthday was coming up, I left wrapping her present until the last minute. While in the bathroom I spotted an empty toilet roll tube, so I put the gift inside, gently pushed in the ends to create a little box then tied ribbon around it to make it look pretty. My sister loved her recycled loo roll gift box. Scott Perry, Redhill, Surrey
Pleats please me
When I moved house, I couldn't get my curtains to hang right. I saved up lots of loo rolls, cut them to the right length, then threaded them between curtain hoops on the pole. Now I have beautiful curtains with perfectly even pleats. Lauren King, Desford, Leics
Paint pots
My husband Paul needed somewhere to store his paintbrushes and his other art equipment. We saved up some old boxes and cardboard tubes and covered them in some fabric we'd bought, then stuck them all together using PVA glue. Now, Paul has the perfect paintbrush tidy and everywhere is tidy! Jane Sibley, Cambridge
Seeds of change
All my old loo rolls needed recycling. I put them in a cardboard box and filled the tubes with soil, before pushing some seeds in and watering. It's the perfect home for my seedlings and is environmentally friendly too. Tory Buxton, Southampton, Hants
Smells like steam spirit
I made this steampunk-style lavender bag from a loo roll. I glued a scrap of material to the outside and stuck it to a large padded button. Next, I poured in some lavender and covered it with netting. Then, I added ribbon so I could hang it in my wardrobe. It makes my clothes smell great. Kaz McGuire, Grimsby, Lincs
