I decided to upcycle an old hi-fi cabinet I had lying around. First, I painted it with chalk paint. When that had dried, I stuck some wallpaper to the back of it. Finally, I added a new crystal handle on the door. Now I use it as a drinks cabinet. I think it looks very stylish. Lucy Hodson, Hoylake, Merseyside
Blooming Marvellous
I had some spare pieces of wood, so I decided to make a vase. I measured and cut some blocks into equal lengths, which I put together to create a square frame. Then I made a base from a thin square of wood, and attached four panels to the top and bottom to create the sides. Finally, I stained the vase, then buffed it with wax. Then it was ready for flowers. Keep it cool
My fridge was looking a bit old and tired. So I decided to jazz it up. I took some patterned sticky-back plastic. I started at the top and slowly stuck it down, smoothing it with my hands to keep it wrinkle and bubble-free. Then I used a craft knife to neaten up the sides. Now I have a stylish fridge that I revamped myself for next to nothing.Lydia Smith, Dundee
Owl right now
I wanted to make an unusual lamp for my living room. When I saw this owl ornament, I had a great idea. First, my husband Dave drilled a hole into the top and bottom. Then we bought a light fitting to thread through the owl. Finally, we topped it with a lampshade to make a very unique lamp!Hazel Orchard, Golden Cross, E Sussex
Match of the day
I wanted everything in my bathroom to match, but couldn't find a black sink to go with my black loo. Instead I kept my old white one and applied a black decal transfer stick before adding black taps. Now it looks like a perfect matching set.Maria Cowie, Cross Gates, Leeds
