500g beef mince
1 onion, finely chopped
Small handful of fresh flat-leaf parsley, finely chopped
1 garlic clove, finely chopped
Salt and freshly ground black pepper
1-2tbsp olive oil
4 burger buns, split
4 large lettuce leaves
4 Cheddar slices
1 tomato, sliced

1 Mix the beef, onion, parsley and garlic together in a bowl. Season with salt and pepper. Shape the mixture into four patties, cover and chill for 15min or until firm.
2 Heat the oil in a frying pan over a medium heat. Cook the patties for 5min on each side, or until cooked through.
3 Meanwhile, lightly toast the buns. Fill the buns with the lettuce leaves, beef patties, slices of cheese and tomato, and serve with tomato ketchup, if liked.

It’s so quick and easy to make your own burgers — you don’t even need to add any extra ingredients to the beef, just a little seasoning. Try lamb mince or even a combination of beef and pork. Delicious and great to get the kids cooking!
