Make sure you apply SPF daily
Wearing SPF is the best way to keep healthy, glowing skin. Ninety per cent of wrinkles are from sun exposure, so it’s easier to prevent damage than it is to fix it. That means during winter too.
Invest in skincare with vitamin C
Research shows that vitamin C-rich foods mop up the free radicals that cause wrinkles and sagging.
Hydrate skin from the inside out
Water helps clear the toxins that cause inflammation and blemishes.
It also assists in transporting nutrients and oxygen to skin cells, and preventing dehydration, which can cause premature ageing. Aim to drink at least eight glasses of water each day.
Eat berries to reduce wrinkles
A powerful anti-ageing potion is lurking in your fridge. Raspberries are loaded with ellagic acid, an antioxidant that can prevent wrinkles. It protects the collagen that keeps skin plump and beautiful from being worn down by the sun.
Clean your make-up brushes
A study found that 72 per cent of women never wash their brushes or sponges, even though they collect dirt and bacteria, which can cause breakouts. Mix a couple of drops of facial cleanser or shampoo and lukewarm water in a cup, swish your brushes around, rinse, pat dry, and lay flat to air dry.
Go to bed early
We know, you’ve heard it all before, but it’s called ‘beauty sleep’ for a reason. Sleep deprivation lowers circulation, which is why you look pale and washed out if you only get a few hours.
