Rosie Floyd is a Pets, Homes & Garden Product Writer for Take a Break Pets. She has grown up always having at least one pooch as part of the family and has experience in owning a variety of breeds, including Labradors, Cockapoos and Yorkshire Terriers, which is why she specialises in all things dogs in her role.

Rosie has been with Bauer Media since 2022 and has contributed to a number of titles, including Yours, Modern Gardens, A Modern Kitchen and Mother & Baby. Having known from an early age that she wanted to be a writer, Rosie went to study Journalism & Media at Coventry University where she achieved a BA with honours in 2015. Her career highlights before joining Bauer include writing content around must-visit holiday destinations and luxury hotels for a well-known UK tour operator and a role that was all about creating content around outdoor living for a family-run garden buildings manufacturer.

As a self-confessed ‘crazy dog lady’, you’ll usually find Rosie cuddled up to one of her three dogs, Gina, Barney and Bella. All three pups are more than happy to get involved with product testing where they can, especially when treats and toys are involved! Rosie has raised and trained puppies all the way through adulthood and into their senior years. She's used many types of food, toys and other pet care essentials to suit the needs of her hounds over the years so she knows what makes a good pet product.

When she’s not tapping away at her laptop or got a dog on her lap, Rosie is watching the Mamma Mia films on repeat, singing along to 90s and 00s pop, or endlessly scrolling Instagram and TikTok for cute and funny dog videos and memes. She really can’t get enough of dogs!

Rosie’s area of expertise:

• Dog food and treats
• Puppy care and training essentials
• Dog toys (covering everything from squeaky toys to tough toys)
• Pet fashion, including jumpers and coats
Dog grooming products

Rosie’s top buying tips for readers are:

• “You can get some great multi-buy discounts on pet food so you can stock up by buying in bulk. Just make sure you’ve got room to store it correctly so it stays as fresh as can be.”

• “If you’re familiar with making a last-minute dash to the shops to make sure your furry friend has some food in, I’d recommend signing up to subscribe and save services that many retailers offer. That way, you’ll always have a delivery of your pet’s favourite food straight to your door, exactly when you need it. Plus, you can usually bag a discount against the RRP by signing up for regular deliveries with a cat or dog food subscription.”
